Do you know about New Grounds Cafe?? It is a wonderful coffee shop / gathering place located on Rt. 39 almost directly due south of the Inn. This is like no coffee shop you have ever experienced. They have the classic specialty drinks, barista style, and they also have a light hot food and novelty menu, including pizza, subs, 8 flavors of soft serve ice cream and many other treats. There is a large room with several pool tables, a worship space with a stage and several tables and booths and large screen TV's tuned into the big game, a central dining and drinking area, also consisting of several booths and tables and cozy spaces with smaller seating arrangements with individual TV's. There are board games, books and other entertainments available and guests are encouraged to linger and visit with one another while contemporary Christian music plays softly in the background. The staff is super friendly.
The best thing (other than the food, atmosphere and people)? The hours of operation! New Grounds is open daily (closed Tuesdays) from 4 pm to 11 pm - EVEN ON SUNDAYS! it is a great place for guests of the Inn to go and unwind at the end of a day spent touring Amish country. Included in the room Guest Directories is a menu of offerings. We recommend the iced peach green tea - it is FABULOUS!.
Pictured below is manager Neil Hostetler who took time to introduce himself and share a little about the history of the cafe from his own teen years spent there.
